Ceres, Goddess of Grain,
sits atop Chicago’s Board
of Trade Building, by
Holabird & Root, 1929.
Chicago Line’s 400 passenger Ceres will become the largest passenger vessel to clear all Chicago Bascule Bridges.

The design phase of our Ceres project has been completed by naval architects Hoek Design / Azure NA (Netherlands), and will be constructed to American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) standards by Fincantieri USA in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

This 180 ft. teak-decked, 8 mm Burns Harbor Steel-hulled vessel will be powered by 80 tons of sealed batteries charged solely by electricity harnessed from wind energy.
