Columbus’ replica ships will dock at Navy Pier from August 12 – 16. The traveling museum offers visitors an opportunity to learn about the past and experience replica Columbus’ ships that sailed into the New World. Columbus voyages began around the late thirteenth century. He sailed throughout the Atlantic Ocean, making stops all over the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. The Nina was one of three ships that Columbus used for his first voyages to the New World in 1492, it traveled over 25,000 miles. La Pinta, which was the fastest boat, was the first boat to stumble upon the New World. Self-guided tours of the ship cost $7 adults, $6 seniors, and $5 children.
